Local pilot

Run AdoptAI on your computer

Your workspace is stored on this computer. Google connections and AI requests still use the internet. Your computer must stay on, awake and online with AdoptAI running for syncing, schedules and WhatsApp replies.

These downloads are for invited pilot accounts. Windows and Mac builds are not yet publisher signed or Apple notarized; first-open security prompts may appear. Windows ARM and older Mac versions have not been tested.

Install and open

Windows: run the installer, then open AdoptAI from Start. It installs for your user.
Mac: choose Apple silicon (M-series) or Intel using About This Mac. Open the DMG, drag AdoptAI to Applications, then open it there. Tested on macOS 14 Apple silicon and macOS 15 Intel.
Ubuntu 22.04 or later: save the .deb in Downloads, open Terminal and run

sudo apt-get install "$HOME/Downloads/AdoptAI-0.4.0-1-amd64.deb"
```
Then open AdoptAI from Applications. The graphical installer remains unverified on Ubuntu 22.04.

No separate Python or Node installation is needed. Windows may offer More info → Run anyway. On Mac, after a blocked first open, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway for AdoptAI. If your organisation blocks installation, contact your administrator.

Set up your local assistant

Choose Local in the browser setup and save your name and timezone.
Connect your Google account and choose what to import. Link WhatsApp if you want it.
For AI features, enter your own provider API key and review the data-sharing consent. The hosted pilot's shared AI access is not included in the download; provider usage is billed to your key.
Run the initial sync, check the results and choose whether to start AdoptAI when you sign in.

Already using a hosted workspace?

A new local installation starts empty. It does not automatically copy or sync your hosted workspace.

To move your existing history, open Settings → Ready → Move my assistant in the hosted app. Set a transfer password, then choose Pause here and download transfer. In the new local app's same section, import that file with the password before connecting accounts. Reconnect your accounts and AI provider, rebuild the index and review paused schedules. Keep the old workspace paused to avoid duplicate scheduled actions.

Updates and removal

Quit through Settings → Quit desktop app before installing an update. Closing the browser tab leaves AdoptAI running. Updates are manual for this pilot. Uninstalling the app leaves your workspace data in place; disconnect accounts separately.
